#2206 What the Bible Has to Say about Civilizations—Past and Present

Secular anthropologists spend a great deal of time studying civilizations. They probe historical sources and plunge spades into the earth to uncover the secrets of past cultures.

Sadly, the most reliable sourcebook is rarely used, but the Bible has proven repeatedly that it is the real secret to “the nations” and their births and deaths. From the discovery of city states like Nineveh to future plans for Egypt, those who dig through the past are routinely shocked by the accuracy of the Bible’s geography and history.

If we are, as the Bible states, the highest form of special creation, then our Creator knows what is best for us. The message doesn’t have to be hidden from anyone, and God and the Nations shines a light through the passageways of time, to show all people the origins and purpose for the world.

There have been many great nations in the history of the world. But God counts them as drops in a bucket and dust on a scale. God raises them up and puts them down, according to His own sovereign will.

Yet God is not capricious. When nations rise and fall, there must be reasons. The question is, have these reasons been revealed in His written World? It seems a question worth exploring in the deep and inexhaustible mine field of the Holy Scriptures. That is the purpose of this exploratory volume.
